Speech and Language Screener Assessments

Articulate Speech Pathology offer screener assessment days and information sessions to education facilities (pre-school, school, high-school and higher education), care facilities (such as respite, day-care, aged-care), and parents.

What is a Speech and Language Screener?

Speech and language screeners are used to assist adults, parents and early childhood educators in identifying people who may require additional support, and those that may need a full speech and language assessment.

What does the screener involve?

We observe your / your child’s language use and understanding, production of speech sounds, vocal and nasal quality,
and social language skills. We then provide you with an assessment as to whether your / your child's progress is age appropriate or whether they may require further assessment.

Where does the screener take place?

We can conduct the screener session anywhere you feel comfortable. Generally this will be at a school or childcare facility, or other care facility such as respite and aged care.

How long does the screener take?

Generally, a speech and language screener will only take roughly 20 minutes and we will provide you with a brief summary of areas where a full speech assessment may be required (if necessary).

If you would like more information on our speech and language screeners, or to book a screener, please get in touch.
