Language

Language is the way in which we use the words we know and understand in social settings. Our language therapy targets 3 key areas:

Receptive (understanding)

Understanding words, sentences, questions and directions and being able to process what they mean.

Expressive (using)

The words, sentences, questions and directions we use to express our needs, wants and feelings.

Pragmatic (social)

The way we use our language with other people including having conversations, friendships and relationships, interpreting body language, understanding hidden social rules (such as respecting personal space).
